Track 3 of 12
Python you can run here
Write Python and run it in the page.
Beginner 5 lessons Prerequisite: Nothing. This one stands on its own.
Every cell in this track runs real Python in your browser. There is nothing to install and no server: press Run and the code executes, so you can make a mistake, read the error, and change it, which is the way anyone actually learns. The track starts from a print statement and ends at the standard library modules the rest of the course uses.
By the end, you can write and run small Python programs, read a traceback, and use the standard library.
Lessons in this track
- 01 Working with text in Python Slicing, split, join, f-strings and a loop over lines, each a complete program rather than a one-liner.
- 02 Hashing and encoding in Python Six complete programs: bytes, hex, sha256, base64, base64url, and a small tool that uses all of it.
- 03 Addresses in Python Six complete programs, including the /31 that most calculators get wrong and the one call that will exhaust your memory.
- 04 Secrets and tokens in Python Five complete programs, including the one call that looks right and quietly gives you half the token you wanted.
- 05 Run your first Python Not one-liners. Whole programs, six to ten lines, put together a piece at a time.
