unzip

Extract and inspect ZIP archives from the terminal

About

The companion to the classic ZIP packer. It lists and extracts .zip bundles, restores a single member, and picks an output directory. Password-protected archives are handled too.

Install it

pkg install zip unzip

Run this inside Termux. If the package is already present, pkg will say so and do nothing.

Commands worth knowing

6 of the invocations you will actually reach for. Tap the copy button to put one on your clipboard.

unzip -l bundle.zip List the members with their sizes and timestamps. Nothing is extracted.
unzip bundle.zip Extract every member into the current directory.
unzip bundle.zip -d /sdcard/Download Extract into a chosen destination folder, created if missing.
unzip bundle.zip "docs/*" Restore only the members matching a pattern. The rest stay untouched.
unzip -o bundle.zip Overwrite existing paths without prompting. Useful in scripts.
unzip -P secret bundle.zip Supply the password for an encrypted archive without a prompt.
