Bash
The default login shell on Termux and most Linux systems
About
Bash is the Bourne Again Shell, the interpreter you land in when you open a terminal. It reads your commands, runs them, and joins them with pipes and redirection. Scripts you write in it behave the same way on almost any Linux box.
Install it
Included with Termux
Run this inside Termux. If the package is already present, pkg will say so and
do nothing.
Commands worth knowing
5 of the invocations you will actually reach for. Tap the copy button to put one on your clipboard.
bash script.sh Run a saved script in a fresh shell. Test your automation before trusting it with important files. bash -c "ls | wc -l" Run a short command string without an interactive session. Handy inside other scripts and one-off checks. bash -n script.sh Parse a script and report syntax errors. Nothing executes, so typos surface safely. bash -x script.sh Trace every command, printing each line before it runs. The fastest way to find where a script goes wrong. bash --version Print the shell version. Confirms which features this device supports. Worked example
Run bash deploy.sh and this is what you should see.
$ bash deploy.sh
