tldr

Community cheat sheets that show the common uses of a command

About

tldr shows short, example-driven help pages for command-line tools, written by the community. A manual page lists every option; tldr gives you the handful of invocations people actually use. Reach for it when the common flags have slipped your mind.

Install it

pkg install tldr

Run this inside Termux. If the package is already present, pkg will say so and do nothing.

tldr tar Show the common uses of the tar archiver. Covers creating and unpacking archives.
tldr -u tar Update the cached pages from the community repository before reading. You get the latest examples.
tldr -l List every page cached locally. See what is available offline.
tldr -p Render the page for the current platform only. Hides examples that do not apply here.
tldr -L en tar Read the page in a specific language when translations are available.

Worked example
